Transformers are exposed to various types of stress throughout their average service life of approximately 40 years, which may result in multiple failure modes including electrical, thermal, chemical, and mechanical faults. Transformer failures can lead to costly consequences such as damage to primary and secondary equipment, power outages, environmental remediation expenses, and reputational impact.

Monitoring nine dissolved gases using SITRAM Multisense 9 helps prevent transformer failures. SITRAM Multisense 9 analyzes the concentration of nine dissolved gases and moisture contained in transformer insulating oil (mineral oil and ester oil), enabling early detection of abnormal conditions and fault indications.
